Why KAIZEN?

Why KAIZEN?

Once I was with Masaaski Imai at Poland, he is our Chairman and father of the KAIZEN™ concept (just 81 yrs young, based in Japan). He asked 100 odd CEO’s present – why Kaizen? Why improve everyday?

Well, CEO’s said – to grow top line, bottom line, cut cost, customer delight etc, the standard Harvard answers!

He said NO – he went on to say, ‘improve , do Kaizen, get Lean ….so you and rest of your team can go home on time!! That was a whack on our heads!

Most times muda (waste) robs our time and energy. As we identify muda, we can reduce it. Time and resources get better utilized.
